Their good news does something ugly in you.

James 3:16
“A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.”
Proverbs 14:30
Practical reflection & suggested application — not Scripture
Kingdom principle
Jealousy is rarely about the other person. It exposes where we have quietly decided God has been unfair to us.
What this can look like in real life
You scrolled past their announcement, said the right thing in the comments, and felt worse all afternoon.
What to do today
- ♕Congratulate them directly and specifically.
- ♕Write down what you actually want that their news exposed.
- ♕Thank God out loud for three things already entrusted to you.
- ♕Limit the feed that keeps feeding it.
What to avoid
- —Quietly looking for a flaw in their story.
- —Withdrawing from the relationship without explanation.
- —Treating their season as evidence about your worth.
Prayer
Father, keep my heart sound. Teach me to celebrate what You are doing in others while I stay faithful with what You have given me. Amen.
