Mind & Character
Pride
Being right has started to matter more than being close.
What the Word says
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
Proverbs 16:18
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
James 4:6
Practical reflection & suggested application — not Scripture
Kingdom principle
Pride is not confidence; it is self-protection that refuses correction. Grace is described as flowing toward the humble.
What this can look like in real life
You received honest feedback and spent the drive home building a defense.
What to do today
- ♕Accept one piece of correction without adding context.
- ♕Ask someone close what they wish you would hear.
- ♕Apologize first where you have been waiting for them to.
What to avoid
- —Explaining your way out of correction.
- —Keeping score.
- —Confusing being competent with being right.
Prayer
Lord, give me a teachable heart. I would rather be humbled by You than by consequences. Amen.

What correction have I dismissed lately?
Where am I defending an image instead of a truth?
