Purity & Self-Control
Self-Control
Doing what you decided, after the feeling changed.
What the Word says
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23
“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.”
Proverbs 25:28
Practical reflection & suggested application — not Scripture
Kingdom principle
Self-control is listed as fruit of the Spirit — grown, not summoned. It is trained in small, repeatable decisions before it holds under pressure.
What this can look like in real life
You are consistent for nine days, and one hard week erases the whole rhythm.
What to do today
- ♕Shrink the commitment until it is unbreakable, then keep it for seven days.
- ♕Remove one decision from the moment by deciding it in advance.
- ♕Report to one person weekly.
What to avoid
- —Restarting with a bigger commitment after a failure.
- —Relying on motivation.
- —Measuring by feelings rather than repetitions.
Prayer
Lord, grow this fruit in me. Train me in the small things so I stand in the large ones. Amen.
