Today's Scripture

Scripture · KJV
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 1:9

Practical reflection — not Scripture

Devotional

Courage in Scripture is rarely the absence of fear. It is obedience carried out while the fear is still present, grounded in the promise of God's presence.

What does this mean?

The command is tied to a promise. Courage is commanded because presence is guaranteed — not because the situation is easy.

What does this look like today?

It may look like making the phone call you have avoided, telling the truth in a meeting, or showing up somewhere you feel unqualified to be.

Today's action

Do the one thing today that fear has been postponing.

Reflection

Where has fear been making my decisions for me?

Prayer

Father, thank You that You go with me. Give me courage to obey today, in the specific place I have been avoiding. Amen.
